The step to recover contacts from an Android phone is quite easy and it should take no more than 10 minutes of your time, at the most.
Step 1: Download and install the FonePaw Android Data Recovery from their website.
Step 2: Connect your Android phone to the PC and let the software detect and connect itself to the device. It should take a few seconds to be detected.
Step 3: If you have not enabled USB debugging, now is the time. To enable the USB debugging, and follow steps below.
For Android 4.2 or newer:
1. Enter Settings > About phone.
2. Tap Build number for 7 times.
3. Go to Settings again.
4. Tap Developer options > USB debugging.
For Android 3.0 to 4.1:
Tap Settings > Developer options > USB debugging.
For Android 2.3 or earlier:
Tap Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.
Step 4: Once you are done with above steps, you will see a window asking to choose the type of file you need, in this case we want Contacts so tick on the same and click Next.
Step 5: Unlock your Android device now and you will see a popup asking for granting permission to get privileges to access your device. Tap on Grant/Allow/Authorize once you are ready.
Also, if you do not see a popup, click on retry from PC to try again.
Step 6: Select Contacts from the menu bar on left. You will see a list of your deleted contacts. Tick on the contacts that you want to recover. Once you have selected them, click on Recover. For your information, you will also be displayed the number of contacts you selected so you have an idea of how many were there earlier and how many you are recovering.
