Provably Fair Cryptographic Technology used in iGaming

Michael JenningsBy Michael JenningsJan 15, 2024No Comments3 Mins Read

In the dynamic realm of online gambling, trust and transparency are paramount. The advent of Provably Fair technology, a remarkable product of cryptographic innovation, has revolutionized the way online casinos operate.

We will look into the intricacies of this technology, which is rooted in the SHA-256 encryption algorithm – a cornerstone also used in Bitcoin’s blockchain network.

How it works in Online Casinos

Provably Fair technology, a brainchild of cryptographic advancements, operates on the SHA-256 encryption algorithm, akin to Bitcoin’s blockchain network. This technology ensures that online casinos cannot manipulate game outcomes.

It hinges on the Server Seed, a number generated by the platform, and the Client Seed, produced by the user. These, combined with a cryptographic nonce, ensure each game’s outcome is predetermined and unalterable once a bet is placed, instilling confidence among players in the platform’s integrity.

Spribe Games and the Application of Provably Fair Technology

Spribe games have embraced Provably Fair technology, ensuring absolute fairness in game outcomes. The technology works by combining a server seed (e.g., AB) and a player seed (e.g., CD) to create a combined seed (ABCD), which is then hashed using SHA512. This unique approach guarantees that the game result is not generated on the server but through a transparent process involving the players.

Each game, from a roulette spin to which cards shown in blackjack, utilizes this technology to prevent any manipulation of the game output. Players can even verify the fairness of each game round, with public access to hashed server seeds and the ability to change client seeds, demonstrating the commitment to transparency and fairness.

Aviator, aka the “airplane game” is the most popular game from Spribe. It’s reported by KTO, an online casino with 1.6 million searches on Google every month that Aviator is the 4th most popular game on their platform.

Reputation and Reliability: Main Reasons for Switching Platforms

Reputation and reliability are crucial in the iGaming industry, with 71.46% of respondents identifying these as key factors when choosing a gaming platform. Trust and credibility play a significant role in user decisions, underscoring the importance of establishing a strong reputation and reliable service in retaining and attracting players.

This trend emphasizes the need for iGaming platforms to prioritize these non-gaming factors to maintain a competitive edge.

Building Trust in iGaming: The Significance of Provably Fair Solutions

Overall, the adoption of Provably Fair technology is more than a technical achievement; it’s a commitment to player empowerment and industry integrity. It marks a new era in online gambling where fairness, transparency, and trust are not just aspirations but tangible realities. As the industry continues to evolve, the continued adoption and enhancement of such technologies will be critical in shaping a secure and credible future for online gaming.
