New economizer and part-load modelling tools give refrigeration equipment manufacturers faster, more accurate system design; a new compressor model will debut in Nuremberg in October
BRNO, Czech Republic – September 23, 2026 – MIRAI INTEX, the Czech engineering company whose air-cycle technology underpins the ult freezer Mirai Intex range of ultra-low temperature systems, today announced a significant expansion of the operating envelope of its oil-free propane (R290) turbocompressor.
Alongside it, the company has released an updated engineering calculator for OEM partners. Both updates are aimed at manufacturers of industrial chillers and refrigeration systems who need to size equipment precisely and bring new products to market faster.
The enlarged operating envelope map lets system designers assess compressor behaviour across a much wider span of operating conditions than before.
As a result, engineers can pinpoint the best equipment configuration for a given project earlier in the design process, with fewer iterations.
Design Tools Built Around OEM Engineering Needs
The new version of the calculator, available now in the MIRAI INTEX OEM Partner Zone, adds two capabilities requested by refrigeration equipment builders. Engineers can now calculate operating parameters for systems that include an economizer, and they can simulate how the compressor performs at part load.
Together, these functions cut down on manual calculation work, allow different operating scenarios to be compared quickly, and produce more reliable performance data while a project is still on the drawing board.

A Compressor Designed for Low-Maintenance, Climate-Friendly Refrigeration
The MIRAI propane turbocompressor is a two-stage centrifugal machine developed specifically for modern industrial chillers and refrigeration systems. It runs completely oil-free on gas-dynamic bearings, which keeps maintenance to a minimum and prevents performance from degrading over time.
The compressor maintains high efficiency at part load, starts softly and can restart in 55 seconds or less, operates quietly without vibration, and comes with integrated control and protection.
Because it uses R290, a natural refrigerant with a GWP of 0.02 and zero ozone depletion potential, it helps OEMs meet tightening environmental regulations. The turbocompressor is currently offered as the MIRAI Turbo 290 (MT 290) and MIRAI Turbo 350 (MT 350).
New Model to Premiere at Chillventa 2026
MIRAI INTEX will exhibit at Chillventa 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, from 13 to 15 October, where it will unveil a new model of its propane turbocompressor.
The addition extends the product line and opens further options for integrating the technology into industrial refrigeration systems.
Visitors to Hall 4, Stand 4-540 will be among the first to see the new compressor, review its operating characteristics, and discuss integration with the MIRAI INTEX engineering team.
About MIRAI INTEX
Founded in Switzerland in 2015 and headquartered in Brno, Czech Republic, MIRAI INTEX develops and serially produces high-efficiency refrigeration equipment that uses air as its refrigerant, eliminating fluorinated gases entirely.
Built around a proprietary oil-free turbo compressor that operates smoothly from 10% to 100% load, its systems deliver precise temperature control for pharmaceuticals, biomedical storage, plasma freezing, lyophilization, semiconductor testing, the food industry, and more.
The company’s products include the MIRAI X CRYO, ULT Space Cooler, ULT Liquid Cooler, and the propane turbocompressor.
MIRAI INTEX won the RAC Cooling Industry Award for Refrigeration Innovation of the Year 2024 for MIRAI X CRYO, received ATMOsphere’s Natural Refrigerant Technology label in 2023, and was named Refrigeration Product of the Year at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards in 2020 and 2021.
